Senior Year

Hi everybody!!! How's everyone doing? Having fun in our last summer before we have to go in the "adult world" >.<' I was just thinking about this past year and all the ups and downs we went through. At the beginning of senior year, all of us just wanted school to end so we can have fun! We thought about all the major fun and exciting events we were going to have such as senior week, senior trip, senior prom, and other senior events. However, our plans didn't go the way we wanted it to especially senior trip...our class couldn't make up their minds on what to do and where to go...some people wanted to go to California, some wanted to go up north to ski, and others wanted to ride a train??? We wanted to go to Disney World but that didn't go through because there was a lot of rejections...the sad thing was those who rejected Disney World didn't even want a senior trip...so that led us to plan our own trip to Disney World. But it didn't work out because there were so many obstacles in our way. At first, we didn't have a chaperon nor did we have a ride. Then my mom volunteered to give us a ride and to watch over us. However that didn't last long because her work got in the way...which I'm still so very sorry. After a while, I guess we decided not to go anymore because everyone was soooo busy with school work, school projects, and after school activities that we barely had a chance to hang out during lunchtime....There were too many things to do and so much to worry about that senior trip flew out of our heads. However that didn't let us down. We still hung out together whenever we could like our Apple Bee's lunchtime and just recently our long awaited Aquarium Day!!! Even though there were many disappointing things during our senior year like senior project and no senior trip, there were fun times too such as senior week, prom, science olympiad, robotics, senior skip day, and graduation! All of these memories are just bursting out and I have tons more to say but I feel like I'm just rambling. So for my last thoughts about senior year, I'm glad that I met all of ya'll and spent my senior year with ya'll! At first I was too shy to even have eye contact, but ya'll opened up your arms for me to squeeze in! I couldn't even hope for better friends! Even if I asked, I betcha God will just say you already have them!! Thanks ya'll for this amazing senior year!!!

Bonjour les amis!

Hello Friends!

The last update was during our summer vacation.
Since last time, school has started and we've already been quite busy,
So it's understandable that none of use had the opportunity to update.

Anyways, today I was thinking about talking about music.
There are many genres of music.
Some are great to dance to and others are great for studying sessions,and then there are some that inspire us.
Lately, I've been into hip hop more.A lot of hip hop songs are very deep but some are just great dancing songs that liven the mood.A lot of people are fans of music. I don't know anyone who isn't a fan of music. People can talk about it for hours and hours and some people are musicians so they compose music together.
I enjoy all types of music, so I'm very open to any type of genre.
But I am a really big fan of classical music.
I've also been learning how to play classical music on the piano, but since I haven't taken any classes, and I have no idea how to read music notes, it takes a lot of time and patience for me to learn the entire song, but when I finally finish,and I can play all the parts together, I feel like it was worth the effort and perseverance. Something about classical music really lifts my mood.
Some people think classical music is just for old people, but if you listen to it carefully, they all tell a story-some happy and some sad.
Some of my favorite composers/musicians are Joe Hisaishi,Yoko Kanno,Ryuichi Sakamoto,Yiruma,Erik Satie,Vivaldi,and more.

So tell me what type of music genres you like the most and which musicians are your favorite. Do any musicians inspire you? Do you play an instrument?

An Unknown Surprise...

Hello everyone!! How's your summer going? My summer seems to be flying by cause before I knew it, it's already July! It's the third day of summer I guess and it has been very peaceful yet when there's peace there's trouble lying ahead....Fourth of July started as another peaceful day and I thought that it would end like the other days before it...oh was I in for a surprise. We started off with mass, then shopping and eating with family members like any other 4th of July.(very peaceful:]) At night my brother and me visited our friends (they live in New Orleans Parish) and one of them wanted to blow fireworks. He wanted to light those long red firecrackers that last for a couple of minutes, are very loud, and are used for asian new years. We tried to convince him not too yet he did anyway...so after the super loud, super long, and super smoky fireworks were done, we wanted to light our sparklers(that was the original plan). As we were gonna start, a car came slowly to where we were. One of my friends kept saying it was a police car and in the end yelled "POLICE!!!" and ran in the house....well the officer just warned us that fireworks were illegal in New Orleans and told us not to do it again....I feel like I went from a good child to a juvenile delinquent in one night. End of story...what a surprise that was eh? Who knows what other kind of surprises the future will have.

A New Map

Today is the second day of summer! What do you plan to do? Its the perfect time to start mapping out your road of dreams. This summer I started the STAR Program at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans. Can you believe how many different aspects there are to the medical field? There are medical illustrators for those who are artistically skilled; Pediatric ER docs for those who love trauma and kids; electro physiologists for those interested in electricity, heart, and surgery.
I started this program determined to enter the pharmaceutical field as a researcher or as a pharmacist. Now my head is spinning just three weeks into it. It's exciting and wonderful to see how much passion the people within Ochsner have for their job. One thing that I've heard from every single one of them is this: "Do what you love. Don't do it because of the pay, the hours, or because someone tells you to. Don't worry about debt because if you love what you do, you'll get through school and become the person you want to be. When that happens, the pay will eventually come and the debt will disappear." I've heard this over and over throughout my educational career.With one more year until college, I'm beginning to question myself. Am I truly entering the pharmaceutical field for me or am I doing it because someone told me to do so?
For years I heard people tell me "Oh you're perfect for this field. It's simpler and the hours are wonderful etc." I heard it so much that I eventually believed it myself. Now I'm rethinking my map. Is it going in the direction I want or am I looking the other way and letting someone else draw it for me? I'm remapping my goals and starting from the bottom. It's not too late to do so. I wish you guys luck in mapping out your dreams. If you find yourself stuck in a rut like me, then you can either relax and work on it later. Or you can work your behind off to find a way to get a goal or to reach the one you already have.I'm putting my trust in God and I'm praying that he'll guide me in the right direction. anywho.
The main point is to make sure that the goal you want or have is the one that's going to make YOU happy not your parents, not your grandmamas or aunts or uncles or friends. It has to make you happy. Don't forget that..actually you won't be able to. You'll be hearing it many more times.

Today is the first day of Summer!

What kind of summer do you plan to experience this year?
A summer full of adventures? A relaxing, quiet summer? A summer of studious accomplishments? Or a summer of romance?
Regardless of the goals you want to achieve on your break,how about adding one more special thing to your summer list?
How about spending it reading my blog posts? Just kidding!(That would be great too,though)

How about finding something inspiring?
Volunteer at an animal shelter or visit a nursing home,helping your parents around the house,spending more time with distant relatives,getting out of the house and exercising,taking care of the garden and lawn,learning how to do new things,reading interesting books,or sitting back and absorbing all of summer's fine nature.

If not the inspiring actions, how about the inspiring thoughts?
Here are a few quotes pertaining to the summer theme:

"If a June night could talk, it would probably boast it invented romance." ~Bern Williams

"In summer, the song sings itself." ~William Carlos Williams

"Do what we can, summer will have its flies." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Celebrate Summer - Sun drenched days and starlit nights..." ~Gooseberry Patch

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time" ~John Lubbock

"Summer afternoon, summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language" ~Henry James

~~~~~~~~~
That's all for now! I hope you enjoyed this blog and plan to make use of your summer vacation!
Flowers and Their Meanings: Roses
Flowers are beautiful blossoms that we give to those that are important to us. We receive an eye-full every Spring, of flowers, along with the rain.
I personally believe flowers are more than just something pretty to look at. Despite their abilities to trigger allergy sneezes and prick us with their thorns, each flower and color holds a valuable meaning. It is too bad flowers wilt soon after being picked, but while it still stands in your vase, perhaps this post will allow you to fathom the entire value of the flowers you received or will give.
Red Roses: Love and romance.
Pink Roses: Gracefulness and admiration.
Yellow Roses: Friendship and joy.
White Roses: Purity,innocence,and honor.
Orange Roses: Desire,enthusiasm, and passion.
Purple Roses: Enchantment, and love at first sight.
Black Roses: Hatred and farewell.
To my dear Team and viewers,I would give you a bouquet of yellow roses.
